New tennis chief wants more competitions

RWANDA Tennis Federation (RTF)’s new head Francois Ruterana has promised to improve the level of tennis in the country by increasing on the number of domestic tournaments. The 60-year-old, who replaced DR. Charles Rudakubana during Saturday’s general assembly told Times Sport that his administration is focused on increasing the number of tennis events in all categories; professionals, amateurs, veterans and youngsters.

RWANDA Tennis Federation (RTF)’s new head Francois Ruterana has promised to improve the level of tennis in the country by increasing on the number of domestic tournaments.

The 60-year-old, who replaced DR. Charles Rudakubana during Saturday’s general assembly told Times Sport that his administration is focused on increasing the number of tennis events in all categories; professionals, amateurs, veterans and youngsters.

"One of our immediate tasks is to see the number of tennis players rising. But we also want the quality of tennis to improve.”

Other members on the new executive include Augustin Gatera (1st Vice President), Cleophas Kabasita (2nd Vice President), Theoneste Bahati (Secretary General) and Viateur Kabiligi (treasurer).
