Police FC dropped crucial points in the title race after being held to a 1–1 draw by AS Muhanga in a league match replayed at Muhanga Stadium on Sunday, March 1.

The fixture had initially been abandoned on Saturday due to waterlogged pitch. Before the interruption, the hosts were leading 1–0 thanks to a 16th-minute strike from Martin Fabrice Twizerimana.

Police returned on Sunday fully aware that defeat would severely dent their title ambitions, especially after APR FC edged Gorilla FC 2–1 at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Friday. The visitors salvaged a point in the 58th minute when Jean De Dieu Udahemuka found the equaliser.

After halftime, Police FC intensified the pressure in search of a winner, but AS Muhanga remained resolute, defending firmly to secure a valuable draw.

The result means coach Ben Moussa’s side has now gone five matches without a win. Despite the setback, Police FC remain fourth on the table with 37 points, level with Rayon Sports in fifth place but ahead on goal difference.

AS Muhanga, meanwhile, stay second from bottom with 16 points as they continue their fight against relegation.

Elsewhere, AS Kigali and Etincelles played out a goalless draw at Kigali Pelé Stadium, while Bugesera FC and Amagaju FC also shared the spoils in another stalemate.

The Nyamagabe-based side remain rooted to the bottom of the standings with 15 points.
