Building on the success of the 1st edition

Launched in 2024, the Agrodealer Champions Program is RFC’s flagship annual initiative designed to reward agrodealers who demonstrate excellence in distributing and promoting RFC fertilisers while contributing to broader socio-economic development at community level.

The 1st edition of ACP brought together 40 agrodealers and farmers, laying the foundation for a performance-driven, impact-oriented agrodealer network and setting a strong benchmark for future editions.

Following the completion of the 2025B and 2026Aagricultural seasons, the 2nd edition of ACP marked a significant scale-up of the program, convening more than 70 agrodealers and farmers from across the country.

The 2025 edition highlighted agrodealers whose dedication, strategic engagement, and innovative approaches have expanded market reach, improved fertiliser availability, and strengthened farmer productivity across Rwanda.

The event held at RFC’s blending facility in the Bugesera Special Economic Zone, on February 27, 2026.

Strengthening last-mile delivery and fertilizer customization

At the core of ACP is RFC’s ambition to reinforce a high-performing, professional, and reliable agrodealer network capable of ensuring timely and efficient last-mile delivery of customised fertilisers to farmers.

By recognising agrodealers who excel in distribution, customer engagement, and product promotion, the program directly supports the scaling of locally produced, soil-specific fertilizer blends tailored to Rwanda’s diverse agro-ecological zones.

Through ACP, RFC promotes the adoption and proper use of customized fertilisers developed based on national soil diagnostics and agronomic data, contributing to improved nutrient efficiency, enhanced crop yields, and sustainable soil management, while strengthening agrodealers’ role as trusted frontline partners to farmers.

Recognising performance, impact, and innovation

Agrodealers were assessed using a comprehensive scorecard combining three core dimensions: fertiliser volumes distributed, community impact, including job creation and youth and women empowerment, and innovation in promoting RFC products.

During the ceremony, a total of 27 awards were presented to top-performing agrodealers and farmers nationwide. These included motor tricycles to strengthen last-mile logistics, alongside other performance-based awards designed to recognise excellence, support professional growth, and enhance agrodealers’ capacity to serve farmers more effectively.

Special recognition was also given to outstanding women and young agrodealers, reflecting RFC’s commitment to inclusivity and local value creation.

Agrodealers as strategic partners in Rwanda’s agricultural transformation

By empowering agrodealers as critical actors in fertiliser distribution, ACP reinforces RFC’s broader strategy of strengthening Rwanda’s agricultural value chain, from local industrial production to farmer-level impact.

Agrodealers play a central role not only in product distribution, but also in improving fertiliser accessibility, supporting farmer adoption, and promoting best agronomic practices.

Ultimately, the Agrodealer Champions Program contributes to higher agricultural productivity, improved food security, job creation, and stronger rural economies across Rwanda.

"The Agrodealer Champions Program reflects our conviction that strong last-mile partners are essential to delivering impact at scale,” said Anass Khanchoufi, Managing Director of RFC.

"By recognising excellence, loyalty, and innovation among agrodealers, we are strengthening a distribution ecosystem capable of delivering customised fertiliser solutions that respond directly to farmers’ needs and Rwanda’s soil realities.”
