The Minister further observed that the project is in line with the government policy of land consolidation and increased productivity, self reliance and fight against poverty. He stressed the need for effective, efficient and optimal utilization of military land.

He emphasized that the RDF will continue to engage in similar activities that contribute to the development of the nation as demanded by the national constitution. He cited sericulture, maize, coffee and livestock as some of the e3xamples.

On arrival, the Minister was received by Brig Gen Alex Ibambasi who serves as the J5 and Head of Production Department in the RDF together with RDF agricultural officers.
