Many people world-wide are interested in Rwanda’s culture because they are attracted to it.
Leonard Rugira, a S.5 student at IFAK Secondary School in Kimihurura, said that he loves Rwanda’s cultural weddings.
"I love our system of wedding and believe that it’s a right method of even promoting our culture beyond our borders,” Rugira said.
Barbra Immaculee Mugire, another student at the same school states that the bride price that comes with these weddings should not condemn a groom into debt.
"The Rwandan culture should not be a burden. Since we consider weddings to be an important part of our culture, families should put into consideration the bride price,” Mugire said, adding that "The bride price should be fair so that men do not get into debt.”
Besides the dance, music, dress code and weddings, Diana Teta says Kinyarwanda language is what she values most.
"Loving and speaking our mother language is so important in the Rwandan culture especially among the youth who have the chance to pursue their education out of the country; we should never forget our mother language,” Teta said.
