Rwanda Energy Group (REG) Women’s Basketball Club will host arch-rivals APR in a highly anticipated women’s basketball league showdown on Wednesday, February 25, at Petit Stade.
The fixture headlines a packed evening schedule that will also see AZOMCO Basketball Club face The Hoops Rwanda at 3:30pm, before REG Basketball Club take on United Generation Basketball (UGB) in the men’s category at 8:30pm.
REG Women have bolstered their squad with the signing of American point guard Shauqunna Nicole Collins, who is expected to play a pivotal role against a strong APR side.
APR have also reinforced their roster with the additions of Rosine Micomyiza, Yvonne Muhawenimana and Jordan Umuhoza, setting the stage for a fiercely contested encounter.
REG currently lead the league table with eight points, one ahead of APR, who sit second with seven points from three wins and one defeat.
Elsewhere in the women’s competition, The Hoops Rwanda, third with six points, will look to consolidate their position when they face AZOMCO, who are near the bottom of the standings with two points.
