The thief was so bold that he even asked her how she could run after him for just a bag and she said to him, "It’s not just a bag, it’s a Prada.”
Prada is one of those fancy and hot labels. This scene was in a movie I have watched. However I have witnessed quite a number of such incidents in real life. People will pay a fortune for anything that has a designer label on it.
Umutoni Joanna, 23, is a University student. She says she loves anything that is Victoria Secrets because they depict a great sense of style and her friends find them classy and cool as well.
However, Eugene Rwigyema 26, a marketing manager, says he no longer cares about labels as long as what he buys looks nice to him. He further says that he was a label freak way back when he was at University but it does not matter anymore. Rwigyema also says that Celebrities like musicians and the youth are the ones that are really into labels.
Recently, I was chatting with a group of friends when a fly kept landing on one of them. Jokingly, I asked him why the fly was all over his shirt and not the rest of us and said, "Come on, who doesn’t like Gucci?”
I found that so funny and annoying at the same time. If I was a Gucci diehard, I would expose and put my Karate skills to perfection on this guy.
Anyhow, what he literally meant was that everyone loves Gucci and even the flies figured that out that’s why they were all over his shirt.
Labels have proven to have most of the latest best fashions and designs. This could be because of the many great designers that have emerged making competition stiff.
Labels are also associated with high status which explains why most celebrities and the very rich only wear clothes, shoes, shades and perfumes with particular labels. Some celebrities such as Victoria Beckam, Naomi Campbell and Britney Spears have their own labels.
Some people love labels for particular reasons. For example Joseph Uwimana, 24, says he loves labels a lot because they help him get any girl that he would love to date.
He says, coincidentally, all the girls he has dated so far all love labels so he just has to find out what their favourite label is and then he will have them wrapped around his little finger.
Could it then be that labels are a girl thing?!! If you are a guy trying to impress a lady, you could give this a try by buying them something with one of those famous labels.
If you are the kind that is so into labels, go ahead and purchase them if you can afford them but please cut out the saying that goes "Labels know no fashion”. I know of friends who are Label maniacs and they will buy anything with their favourite labels though the item looks too ugly to even be worn for Halloween’s Day.
Buy your favourite labels but mind the fashion and style of the item more.
