Two Rwandan basketball referees, Jean-Sauveur Ruhamiriza and Didier Gaga, have been selected among the match officials for the second window of the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup African Qualifiers, scheduled for February 26 to March 1 in Senegal and Egypt.
Gaga will officiate Group D matches in Cairo, featuring hosts Egypt, Mali, Angola and Uganda. Meanwhile, Ruhamiriza has been assigned to Dakar for Group B action, where hosts Senegal will compete alongside Côte d'Ivoire, DR Congo and Madagascar.
The 12 games to be played in Cairo and Dakar are expected to further shape the race for qualification to the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Qatar, with five slots reserved for African nations.
The second window will take place at Marius N'Diaye Gymnasium in Dakar and Borg Al Arab Sports Hall in Alexandria.
The qualifying campaign for the eight participating teams began last November in Rades, Tunisia.
