RWANDA’s national carrier RwandAir is ready to fly football fans to South Africa for the upcoming 2010 World Cup scheduled to run from June 11-July 11.

The company’s acting Chief Executive Officer John Mirenge has confirmed that they have been asked to come on board by the tournament’s local organizing committee.

"RwandAir has been invited to be involved in the planning process of the World Cup,”

"We will decide on a special tariff for football fans willing to fly with us to watch the World Cup,” Mirenge said.

Johannesburg being one of its key routes, the airline company has now increased frequencies on the route to meet demand. RwandAir now operates four direct flights to Johannesburg every week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).
