David Mathenge better known by his stage name Nameless is a Kenyan pop artist. He was born in August 1976 in Nairobi Kenya. He rose to fame in 1999 through a star-search contest on Kenya’s urban music station 98.4 Capital FM, which he won with his original song "Megarider.”

The song was about a penniless young man who is trying to seduce a woman but only has enough money for Kenya Bus tickets, and not the rich lifestyle she desires.

He later recorded the track with producer Tedd Josiah and it went on to be hot on the charts for weeks. This was the turning point in his musical career.

He went on to sign with the popular Ogopa DJ’s label in 2001 and collaborated with artists such as the late E-Sir on "Boomba Train,” and Amani on the regional hit "Ninanoki” in 2002 which broke Kenyan chart records by remaining 110 days at number one.

He has gone on to tour across the East African region, the U.S.A and U.K. In 2004, he released his debut album ‘On Fire’. In 2004, Mathenge married Ogopa DJ’s label-mate Wahu Kagwi.

They have one child, a daughter who was born in 2006. He is also an architect and graduated from the University of Nairobi.

He was recently voted to be among the list of the 100 most influential Kenyans as selected by Kenyan media. He last year collaborated with the young Ugandan trio of Blu3 to release ‘Prisoner’ which is currently number three on the East African billboard charts.

Intro
Nameless,
RKay,
Can I be your prisoner
I’m a prisoner

Chorus
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Umenishika, shika
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Mpenzi lako umenifunga

Umenishika, shika
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Mpenzi lako umenifunga

Verse 1 (Jackie & Nameless)
I cannot imagine not seeing your smile
I cannot imagine not feeling your touch
You lock me in a chest so far
And for you, I cannot deny your love
I cannot escape this love that you give me
I cannot break these chains that you lock me
Umenifunga mami, ... mami
Nimekubali, and don’t release me
Anything you say, I’ll do
Anything you want, I’ll give
Baby, your love is taking me to places I never knew

Chorus
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Umenishika, shika
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Mpenzi lako umenifunga

I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Umenishika, shika
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Mpenzi lako umenifunga

Verse 2 (Lilian & Nameless)
What can I say, what can I do, to prove this love is true
Temptation taking over my body like fire burning through my soul
You giving me a life sentence and my sale number is 69
I am locked up in solitary, but that’s fine as long as you’re mine
Anything you say, I’ll do
Anything you want, I’ll give
Baby, your love is taking me to places I never knew

Chorus
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Umenishika, shika
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Mpenzi lako umenifunga

I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Umenishika, shika
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Mpenzi lako umenifunga

Verse (Edith & Nameless)
Usiniachilie
I want to be your prisoner
Usiniachilie
Every second, every minute, every hour
Usiniachilie
365 days of the year

I want to be your prisoner, can I be your prisoner

Chorus
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Umenishika, shika
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Mpenzi lako umenifunga

I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Umenishika, shika
I’m a prisoner, prisoner
Mpenzi lako umenifunga
