United States Senator Steve Daines of Montana on Friday, February 20 paid tribute to victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi.

According to Kigali Genocide Memorial, during his visit, Senator Daines learned more about the history of the genocide through a guided tour of the memorial exhibits.

Senator Daines was received by President Paul Kagame on Thursday, February 19. Their meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and the United States.

According to the Office of the President, the meeting explored ways to strengthen Rwanda-U.S. Cooperation, regional stability, and opportunities for expanding economic ties.
