Featured: Fitnesspoint expands Gacuriro branch amid growing gym demand

Fitnesspoint has upgraded its space and equipment in Gacuriro to better serve a rapidly increasing number of clients.

Previously operating on the third floor of Vision Arcade, the gym faced space limitations that could no longer match its growing membership. The space was too small to meet the increasing demand and the management decided to relocate and expand to a larger facility on the second floor of the same building, near Airtel headquarters.

Located in Gacuriro Sector, the newly expanded facility can now accommodate over 1,000 members in a fully equipped, modern training environment designed to enhance comfort and performance.

"We chose to expand our gym due to the high demand that we were not capable of serving at the time. Our service is built on delivering a better experience. That’s why we’re not only looking for profit, but also aiming to gain the trust of our clients and become their favourite place to be,” said Fitnesspoint Gacuriro Branch Manager Hakeem Hashim told The New Times.

The facility features

The upgraded branch is equipped with new machines tailored to meet clients’ requests while maintaining professional standards. New additions include a plate-loaded standing abductor, plate-loaded standing leg curl, glute machine, plate-loaded bench press, plate-loaded low pull, plate-loaded shoulder press, rear kick machine, and a chest machine that is rarely found in other fitness gyms.

Beyond equipment, the expansion has allowed the introduction of more premier fitness classes. While the spinning class remains one of the most popular sessions, the larger space has made it possible to diversify the class schedule.

New sessions include Belly and Glute (Mondays at 5:30 pm), Body Reset (Tuesdays at 7 pm), designed to educate athletes on proper stretching techniques, and Trampoline classes held twice a week — Mondays at 7:30 pm and Thursdays at 7pm.

Hashim also highlighted one of the gym’s unique client-retention strategies.

"It’s always about reaching our clients first before they think about approaching us at the last minute,” he explained. "We usually contact members before their subscriptions expire. The same approach is applied when introducing new classes — we consider their recommendations first.”

Another major benefit for members is flexibility. A membership purchased at one branch allows clients to access all Fitnesspoint branches freely, including Remera, Kimihurura, and the newly expanded Gacuriro facility.

With extended operating hours from 5 am to 11 pm Monday to Thursday, and 5 am to 9 pm on weekends, Fitness Point continues to position itself as one of Kigali’s most accessible and client-focused fitness brands.
