MUSANZE – An association of people living with HIV/Aids from three cells in Remera sector, Musanze district were on Tuesday named as the beneficiaries of 12 exotic cows in a bid to support their livelihoods.

The cows which were donated by Proferme Twesehamwe, an NGO supported by the Global Fund against HIV and Aids, targeted people coming together as persons who have openly revealed their status.

The acting Executive Secretary for Pro-femmes/Twese Hamwe, Suzan Ruboneka, said that the donation was also part of a wider campaign to prevent spread of the virus within society while supporting those already infected.

According to the Remera Sector Executive Secretary, Augustine Kanyarukato, over 60 people in the sector have declared their HIV status and are receiving support.
