Mottley steered the Barbados Labour Party to a commanding win in Wednesday’s general election, earning a third straight term after capturing every seat in the House of Assembly, according to state television.

The BLP secured all 30 seats in the lower chamber of parliament, defeating opposition leader Ralph Thorne.

Mottley, who first became Prime Minister of the Caribbean country in 2018, has been a prominent voice on climate change and Caribbean development issues on the global stage.

The Rwanda-Barbados partnership has flourished since President Kagame’s 2022 visit to the island nation.

Despite being separated by thousands of miles across the Atlantic Ocean, both countries have forged cooperation agreements spanning multiple sectors including tourism, health, mining, financial services, and vaccine manufacturing.

Among the most significant achievements is the air services agreement signed during Mottley’s visit to Rwanda, aimed at establishing direct connectivity between Africa and the Caribbean region.

Rwanda Development Board and Invest Barbados have also partnered to promote strategic private sector investments, with both nations serving as gateways to their respective regions.
