Group Vivendi Africa (GVA Rwanda), the company behind Canalbox, has officially launched Canalbox Business, a new range of fibre-based internet solutions designed to serve startups, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and large organisations across Rwanda, its managers have said.
The new offer aims to provide reliable, high-speed and affordable connectivity to businesses in a country increasingly driven by digital transformation.

Speaking during the unveiling on Thursday, February 3, GVA Rwanda CEO Aime Abizera said the product is part of the company’s broader mission to expand access to broadband internet and support Rwanda’s economic growth.
"Our mission has always been to democratise broadband internet by making it accessible and affordable. With Canalbox Business, we are delivering high-performance connectivity that supports modern business operations and Rwanda’s digital transformation,” Abizera said.
The newly launched Canalbox Business provides fibre internet with speeds ranging from basic SME packages to high-capacity corporate connectivity of up to 10Gbps, positioning it among the most advanced business internet solutions in the region, as per the company.
According to Brian Akimanzi, GVA’s B2B Manager, the product has already been tested and proven before its official launch.
"Today is not just about announcing a product. It is about celebrating a solution that has already been tested, proven, and is delivering value to businesses,” Akimanzi said at the event.

"The new business connectivity service offers premium network prioritisation, 24-hour technical support, dedicated account management, and an independent fiber network owned by GVA. It features symmetric upload and download speeds, optical redundancy with traffic management setting, and a two-hour service recovery, ensuring enhanced reliability and security for businesses.”
Installation typically takes two to five days, depending on location.
Tailored solutions for Startups, SMEs and large enterprises
GVA introduced two main product categories to address different business needs.
The SME and startup package includes internet speeds of up to 200 Mbps, configured for smooth and dependable use of everyday essentials such as email, browsing, social media and many other operations that need internet. The offer features flexible terms, giving businesses the freedom to exit without being locked into long-term contracts.
For larger organisations, the corporate and B2B package offers symmetric high-capacity connectivity of up to 10 Gbps, with scalable configurations that are demand driven, public IP addresses, and secure inter-branch connectivity.
The company says the network has been tested for more than a year and meets strict Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards, ensuring stability and high customer satisfaction.

Abizera stated that the launch responds to evolving business needs, including cloud computing, video conferencing, and secure enterprise connectivity.
He added that Canalbox Business will contribute to Rwanda’s ambitions in digitalisation, smart cities, and economic transformation.
"Businesses today are not just looking for internet access, they need reliable, high-performance connectivity. This product will help accelerate digitalisation, economic growth, and innovation in Rwanda,” he said.
Pricing with affordability consideration
GVA says affordability remains central to its strategy. SME packages adopt a market-driven pricing structure that delivers competitive entry-level affordability, while corporate solutions are priced according to capacity and business requirements.
The company currently covers about 86 per cent of Kigali and continues expanding its fibre network, with near-full coverage in Rubavu and ongoing rollout in key business districts.
To attract new customers, Canalbox introduced a "Test & Buy” model, allowing businesses to try the service before committing. For more information email to; Canalbox.Business.Rwanda@gva.Africa
