Taking care of one another is significant in everyone’s life. What may appear as a challenge for one person may turn out to be a walkover for another. However, when we rely on each other, strength and ability is combined for the better good.

This verifies the fact that individuals depend on each other in various ways. Through caring and giving a hand to those in need, will not only lighten their burdens but also create a culture of unity.

"Caring about others in hard situations enables them to perform better and overcome their hardships,” says 12 year-old Jean Rukundo, a P.5 student at Kigali Harvest Primary School.

"I am good in mathematics, so I always help my friends who find the subject hard. This helps us to understand and perform better. They also assist me whenever I need help in another subject,” Rukundo added.

Nikeza Abimana, 11, a P.4 pupil at APA-COPE Primary School said that properly caring for young ones teaches and shapes them well into the habit of sharing and caring for others.

"I always help my young sister to wash her clothes and teach her how to read and write whenever we get free time at home. She has now learnt from doing these things because I see her also trying to wash her clothes although she is not yet able,” said Abimana.

According to Abimana, her younger sister is aware of the importance of taking care of others and working as a team.

It is important for children to care, work together and love one another if they want to live peacefully and happily in the community.
