Laurent Kanyenama

Laurent Kanyenama is in charge of Research, consultancy and cooperation at Kigali Independent University (ULK).    Below is his typical day of work;
I wake up at 6a.m. I tune in to different local and International radio stations. This helps to update me on the news around me and beyond. I then take a shower, dress up and have breakfast.

At about 7:20am I leave home from Nyakabanda, taking me about 30 minutes to the office. I check my mails and respond to some I believe to be urgent.

I look at the day’s program to ensure that I attend to different responsibilities as expected.  My duties include receiving articles from lecturers, submitting them to internal and external lecturers for valuation and improvement.

I then send them back to the author after getting a soft copy. I combine and submit to the printing house to make a complete book.

Lunch is at 2p.m and I have it at home. I rest for an hour and get back to work. I work until 9p.m.  And by 10p.m I am at home, have supper and get to bed at 10:30p.m.
