FINANCES : Invest in You

The best asset one has for self advancement in right there in oneself. Many of very successful humans have discovered their talents within themselves and have grown and developed it into a rare attraction, a commercial brand and a money minting machine. Talk about David Beckam, Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods just to name a few. Success however is not all about money. It is about achievement and self satisfactions as well. According to one of the leading personal finance websites, Simple Dollar, investing in you implies personal growth, education and cultural literacy, personal appearance, self-confidence, public speaking, diet and exercise, mental and spiritual health, networking, and perhaps most importantly, feeling good and relaxing.

A lot of people consider investing in oneself the same as investing in your career, but you are not 100% a career. Everybody at one stage needs a career but that career should just be one of the things that make you.

Consider improving connections, trying hobbies instead of eternally earning academic degrees and certificates.
By doing this you are improving your inherent value or the value that you can carry from job to job within your current career or that you can take with you if a great opportunity presents itself.

When it comes to personal finance some people say that is the fodder for finance professionals. How can your financial life and future be left to professionals to whom most of the time you can not afford?

Personally, am not the most prudent or even wealthy individual you can find when you walk down the road, but I will give you a small insight into my world so that one day you can get my editor to trash my work in favor of yours, which would be a good thing for you, I suppose.

I am an agriculture professional (read plants and animals) who happens to have writing as a hobby and ‘bad habit’, and along the way am obsessed with my financial health after I realized a clear tendency copied from family and friends to ‘spend till you drop.’

So as a result, I read all the personal finance books and materials on the internet I can find. At the end of the day I combine my obsession and my ‘bad habit’ to write an article for you. Why can’t you do the same, for example?

Think about Oprah Winfrey – American television host, producer, and philanthropist, best known for her self-titled, multi-award winning talk show, which has become the highest-rated program of its kind in history, richest African American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, once the world’s only black billionaire and arguably the most influential woman in the world. Am clearly not even lose the Oprah’s league but this is not about me, but you. So start investing in you today?
