CALLED ON: Maj. Jill Rutaremara

The Defence and Army Spokesman Maj. Jill Rutaremara has called upon Rwandans to put the interest of the country before anything else saying that it is only this that will spur the country to prosperity.

Rutaremara said this yesterday during a public lecture organised by Rwanda Development Board in conjunction with Ministry of Sports and Culture, ahead of the Heroes’ Day that is slated for Monday next week.

"There is need to recognize people whose supreme sacrifice caused a great impact on Rwanda and was beneficial in bringing about peace and stability of our nation,” Rutaremara said.

He added that all sectors of the country must work in harmony to enable the country realize its 2020 aspirations.

"We have a lot of challenges…on top of the bad history that our country went through, we are a land-locked country. This means that we are limited in our endeavours,” he said.

He, however, added that if everyone worked hard like our heroes did, these limitations can be overcome.
