Diaspora initiative on grass thatched huts is noteworthy

Editor,

One of the eye sores one might see while driving through parts of rural Rwanda is the grass-thatched houses belonging to the very poorest members of our community. With the kind of aspirations that Rwanda has, these kinds of homes shouldn’t be still in existence. The fact that they do, is scandal.

That is why I am very impressed by the fact that  the members of the Diaspora have been allocated 36 hectares in Bugesera district to build over 500 houses for the poor in the district.

Those kinds of initiatives should be emulated by the rest of the Rwandan community who live in the country.
