Rayon Sports head coach Bruno Ferry was unimpressed to see his side fail to maintain a two-goal advantage as Al Merrikh came from behind to secure a 2-2 comeback draw on Wednesday at Kigali Pele Stadium.
The Blues went into the break leading 2-0 through goals from Gloire Tambwe and Faustin Kitoko Likau. However, a poor second-half display allowed Al Merrikh back into the contest, with Moise Camara scoring a dramatic late equaliser in the 88th minute.

Ferry admitted his frustration, describing his team’s performance after the interval as below par and costly.
"We are disappointed because we did not win. We did badly in the second half and I am not happy with the result because we should have done better and taken the three points,” the Frenchman said during his post-match interview.
He pointed to a lapse in concentration and consistency as key factors behind the dropped points.
"When we lost concentration and consistency, it became difficult for us. We knew Al Merrikh are a very physical team with quality players, and it was not easy,” he added.
Despite the setback, Ferry believes there were positives to take from the encounter and remains optimistic ahead of upcoming fixtures.
"There are some good takeaways from the game. I believe we can build on the positives and fix our mistakes in the next match,” he said.
The coach also acknowledged that Rayon Sports have dropped points earlier in the campaign but insisted it is too early to draw conclusions about the season.
"I have to encourage my players to remain consistent and try to get as many points as possible,” Ferry noted.
The draw leaves Rayon Sports ninth on the league table with 25 points, one behind Mukura VS, whom they will face next in the final fixture of the first round of the season.
Al Merrikh remain fourth with 32 points, three behind league leaders Al Hilal. The two Sudanese giants are set to face off in what will be the first-ever Sudanese derby played in the Rwanda Premier League.
