Mako Nikoshwa

Beyond being extra talented and ultra brilliant, Mako Nikoshwa has shown and continues to show Rwanda so much love. So, of course, we are loving the fact that he is back!

The singer/songwriter besides gracing our cover discussed his music, and his plans for Rwanda’s entertainment industry.

Mako has been in the trade for quite a long time, and by the look of things he is not ready to retire—at least not in the near future.

If you are a fan of Kinyarwanda music, I bet you know the name Mako Nikoshwa, though the look might be unfamiliar to many.

The singer is famous for his hit tracks, including "Maria Rosé”, "Nkunda kuragira”, and "Agaseke”.  He founded the Kinyarwanda Nite in Uganda, and has formed a similar entertainment theme dubbed, "Mako Nikoshwa unplugged”, a monthly live concert set to improve Rwanda’s entertainment scene.

The concert, which was launched yesterday (Saturday), is scheduled to take place on the last Saturday of the month at Black and White in Nyamata.

Mako Nikoshwa says the night is aimed at promoting the culture of live music performances in Rwanda, and to give platform to upcoming artists to develop their talent.
