CECAFA Club Champions Atraco has ruled out the possibility of brining in SC Villa’s influential defender Simeon Masaba.

The Ugandan International has long been linked with a move to the MTN Peace Cup champions but latest reports from the club indicate that the move has fallen through.

"Masaba has been high on our club’s transfer list but SC Villa has not been cooperative. We could have signed him before the start of the season but were still frustrated by SC Villa’s asking price (Rwf 41.5m),” Atraco’s vice president Issa Ngeze said.

However, fresh reports also indicate that Masaba is likely to leave SC Villa on a free transfer after failing to secure a new deal with the Jogoos.

Masaba was part of the Uganda Cranes team which outwitted Amavubi 2-0 to win the 2009 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Nairobi.

Atraco, who are on level points (21) with third placed Rayon but who trail the latter on goal difference are looking to bolster their squad after a shaky first round league performance.

Besides the league, the taxi-men side have busy season involving the Africa Confederations Cup, MTN Peace Cup and the Kagame Club Championship.
