BUFFALOES proved that they are still the number one rugby team in the country after winning the annual Sharks 7s tournament played on Sunday at Rugunga.

Fly-half Lucien Bikamba and center forward Vincent Kamali scored two tries and two penalties respectively to propel the Remera side to a 14-7 win and their first trophy of the season.

Five clubs; Buffaloes, Lion de fer, UNR Grizzlies, Sharks and Gorillas took part in the one day tournament that was briefly interrupted by heavy downpour.

In the semis, Gorillas had routed the hosts Sharks 14-0, while Buffaloes had thumped Grizzlies 20-6.

On top of the winners’ trophy, Buffaloes also walked away with rugby balls.
