MP advises residents to fight domestic violence

NYAGATARE - Legislator Connie Bwiza has advised residents of Katabagemu sector in Nyagatare district to fight against all forms of domestic violence within their families. Bwiza was last Saturday meeting residents of Katabagemu sector to sensitize them on the dangers of domestic violence. Presenting a book containing guidelines to curb domestic violence, Bwiza said the ‘book contains laws and directions that will guide you to curb this vice.

NYAGATARE - Legislator Connie Bwiza has advised residents of Katabagemu sector in Nyagatare district to fight against all forms of domestic violence within their families. 

Bwiza was last Saturday meeting residents of Katabagemu sector to sensitize them on the dangers of domestic violence. 

Presenting a book containing guidelines to curb domestic violence, Bwiza said the ‘book contains laws and directions that will guide you to curb this vice. It gives full information on how we can live in harmony without particularly abusing the rights of others within society.’

She noted that sustainable development cannot be reached if there is still domestic violence. 

‘A number of men leave their wives over infidelity –related cases. This is the issue that should be addressed and resolved,’ she said. 

During the same meeting Jacqueline Mukarugina, the head of Women’s council in Katabagemu sector advised women to improve hygiene within their families.
