Assouma Uwizeye has joined Kepler Women Basketball Club on a one-year deal after leaving APR, where she had played since 2015.

The 29-year-old forward is regarded as one of the top players in the Rwanda Women’s Basketball League.

Standing at 1.82m, Uwizeye averaged 5.8 points, six rebounds and 0.4 assists per game last season.

She brought experience to APR both on and off the court, having featured in several FIBA competitions.

Uwizeye also represented Rwanda at the 2022 FIBA Africa Champions Cup Women, where she averaged 9.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.

Following Uwizeye’s signing, Kepler have also re-signed Malian forward Aichata Traoré, who featured for the club during last season’s playoffs.
