Poor servicing is offered by Akagera Motors

Editor, I recently visited Akagera Motors to have my car serviced in the hope that, I would get the best expertise there as compared to any other garage in Kigali since they were the Toyota representative in Rwanda. However, what I received was wanting and left a lot to be desired. They do not only fit your car with substandard parts, a complete check up is not done like is done in other Toyota agencies in the region, like for example Toyota East Africa in Nairobi. Is the issue that Akagera Motors is utilizing unqualified service technicians and mechanics or is it that they don’t have proper diagnostic tools?

Editor,

I recently visited Akagera Motors to have my car serviced in the hope that, I would get the best expertise there as compared to any other garage in Kigali since they were the Toyota representative in Rwanda.

I should strongly suggest they learn better business practices from other Toyota Agencies otherwise they should stop pretending to represent the mother company.

Maybe instead of giving people substandard service they should involve themselves only in selling new cars but not servicing vehicles that have broken down.

Akagera charges a lot of money not worth or commensurate with the service they provide to their clients. Just in case you have to take your car there, be also prepared to pay a lot of money elsewhere to rectify what Akagera Motors didn’t diagnose.

The Garage Manager is also very rude and is totally lacking in customer service skills.

When I enquired from him why certain things were not done, he simply responded, "Why didn’t you take it to somebody who can do it”? My only hope is this is not the view of the company.

I might stand to be corrected, but my humble conclusion is that Akagera Motors is more revenue oriented as opposed to quality driven; this drive is surely a very dangerous trend for the company.
