Shaky start for Team Rwanda

RWANDA’s cycling team-Team Rwanda will need to dig deep after a shaky start in the 2010 Tour of Gabon. Racing alongside 15 other teams, the six-man cycling team struggled to finish 11th in the opening stag which covered 81km from Bongoville to Akiéni.

The team used an average time of 5 hours, 53 minutes and three seconds-30 seconds off the pace set by BBox Bouygues Telecom of France.

Cofidis Le Credit en Ligne, AG2R La Mondiale and Morocco finished second, third and fourth respectively while Cameroon came last after grossing 6 hours, three minutes and 37 seconds.

Andre Niyonshuti’s South African club -MTN Energade finished fifth.

Team Rwanda is being represented by six riders- Emmanuel Rudahunga, Innocent Nshimiyimana, Abraham Ruhumuriza, Jean de Dieu Rafiki, Nicodem Nsengiyumva and Nathan Byukusenge.
