New York City based saxophonist, Jeremy Danneman is planning to return to Rwanda where he is expected to perform at the US embassy in April during the 16th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi. “On April 10 1994, the evacuation of the USA embassy in Rwanda was completed, and 35 Rwandan employees at the embassy were killed, I am hoping to give a concert at the embassy where I will debut a composition of mine entitled “Rwandan Suite,” Jeremy said in an email.

During its 15th commemoration, Danneman played improvised music off his saxophone and clarinet on the streets of Kigali, Butare, and Gisenyi and also collaborated with local musicians.
The saxophonist spoke and gave saxophone demonstrations at the Muhima Primary School, and at the Gisimba Orphanage. He also collaborated with the Rwa Makondera Children’s Dance group at the Ivuka Arts Center.
"I hope to be joined by Rwa Makondera Children’s Dance troupe during this performance,” said Danneman, who is set to release a documentary ‘Rwanda 15’ which will feature his street performances in Rwanda.
