Basketball: Rwanda 3x3 team off to Cairo ahead of FIBA Africa Cup

The national basketball team, on Thursday December 1, departed for Cairo, Egypt for the forthcoming FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup tournament.

Slated for December 3-4, the two-day showpiece will take place at Al Qahirah, featuring eight national teams pooled in two groups. 3x3 basketball is a variation of basketball played on a "three-a-side” basis, with one backboard and a half-court setup.

Rwanda is in Group A alongside Madagascar, Egypt and Botswana. Group B comprises Kenya, Tunisia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Morocco.

On December 3, Rwanda will start its campaign against Botswana, and later, on the same day, play against Egypt.

On December 4, the national team will be back in action against Madagascar.
