Amavubi coach is on point

Editor, I’m pleased that the Amavubi interim head coach Eric Nshimiyimana is urging the local football federation, Ferwafa, to engage the national team in more build-up games ahead of the 2011 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers. As a football fan, this makes a lot of sense.

Editor,

I’m pleased that the Amavubi interim head coach Eric Nshimiyimana is urging the local football federation, Ferwafa, to engage the national team in more build-up games ahead of the 2011 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers. As a football fan, this makes a lot of sense.

No matter how good a team is, its needs practice. It doesn’t matter whether you are Brazil or Bhutan. In fact, I’m shocked that he even has to urge the federation to get some warm up games.

How in the world is the team supposed to do well in this continental competition if they haven’t gotten the opportunity to tweak their system by playing against other teams?

Personally, if the national team doesn’t perform well in the competition, when it hasn’t played in friendly games, I will agitate for the removal of the entire Ferwafa executive because it will be scandalous.
