RRA pardons 100 traders

RUBAVU – Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) has pardoned more than 100 traders who were operating without making monthly tax declarations in Rubavu, Nyabihu and Ngororero districts. “These business persons were to be fined Rwf100,000 for not making tax declarations every month which has brought  a standoff between them and RRA,” Moses Bigirabagabo an official of the Private Sector Federation said.

RUBAVU – Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) has pardoned more than 100 traders who were operating without making monthly tax declarations in Rubavu, Nyabihu and Ngororero districts.

"These business persons were to be fined Rwf100,000 for not making tax declarations every month which has brought  a standoff between them and RRA,” Moses Bigirabagabo an official of the Private Sector Federation said.

"We have all agreed to let them continue doing their businesses and making tax declarations without any fines,” he added.

Bertizard Semuhizi, the president of the business community in the region said, "We have mutually agreed with the tax authorities that small scale traders after this general pardon should henceforth register taxes.”
