Gaseruka is set to make his debut at El Merreikh.

ALOUA Gaseruka is finally set to make his long awaited debut for Sudanese outfit El Merreikh, Richard Mugarura reports.

The centre-back, who can also play at right full back has been sidelined since his move from Atraco, three-weeks ago following difficulties in getting a playing license.

However, latest reports indicate that every thing is set and that the former Atraco player will now make his debut.

Gaseruka, who joined El Merreikh on a two-year contract, caught the eye of the Sudanese side during last year’s Cecafa Club Championship which was held in Khartoum, Sudan.

The defender was instrumental in helping the taxi-men side win the title after trouncing the Sudanese side in the final.

There are also fresh reports that Kiyovu’s Joseph Kabagambe and Amavubi’s second choice goal keeper Jean Luc Ndayishimiye, commonly referred to as Bakame are on the wanted list for the rich Sudanese club.

Bakame, who was also part of Atraco’s 2009 Cecafa Club Championship winning team, joined APR during the off season but El Merreikh has kept a close eye on him.

Like APR, Merreikh will feature in this year’s Orange African Champions league and want Bakame to boost their squad.
However, the ten-time league champions have rubbished reports saying that the Amavubi Stars first choice goalie is not up for sale.

APR Secretary General Adolph Kalisa insists that nothing has been agreed between the two sides.

Gaseruka is set to play alongside some of Africa’s top players like Stephen Wogu, who joined El Merreikh for a record transfer fee of $1million.
