Ivorian president receives special message from Kagame

Prime Minister Justin Nsengiyumva, on Tuesday, December 9, met with Cote d'Ivoire's president Alassane Ouattara and delivered to him "a special message" from president Paul Kagame.

Ouattara has just been sworn-in for a new term as president. Nsengiyumva attended his inauguration in Abidjan, representing the government of Rwanda at the event.

The Ivorian leader secured a fourth term after winning the October 25 elections, with 89.77 per cent of votes.

He has been president of the west African country since 2011.

"Following Côte d’Ivoire’s Presidential inauguration, Prime Minister Nsengiyumva met President Ouattara and delivered a special message from President Kagame," the Prime Minister's office shared via X.
