Rwanda’s renowned gospel artist Alexis Dusabe is set to mark 25 years in gospel music with a special celebration concert titled ‘Umuyoboro Live Concert’, scheduled for Saturday, December 14.
The milestone event is expected to bring together some of the most respected gospel voices from Rwanda and the region for a night of worship, thanksgiving, and reflection on Dusabe’s impactful ministry.
Among the confirmed guest performers is celebrated gospel singer Bosco Nshuti, whose timeless worship songs — including Wanyujuje Indirimbo, Nzayivuga, and Ibashagukora — have made him a favorite among gospel audiences.
Nshuti’s powerful connection with worshippers and his long-standing ministry experience make him a strong addition to the lineup.
Dusabe said Nshuti was an obvious choice due to their friendship and shared dedication to authentic worship.
"First of all, Bosco Nshuti is a good friend of mine, and he sings about the love of God in a way that truly enters worshippers’ hearts and lifts them up,” Dusabe told The New Times.
"His message aligns with how we should praise the Lord. He also has strong experience in gospel music, and he was easy to reach—he didn’t give me a hard time.”
Also joining the stage is Burundian gospel singer Pastor Lopez, known for powerful songs such as Imana Yakandi Karyo and Biramagije. Dusabe praised Lopez’s energetic worship style and his ability to uplift audiences.
"From what I have seen in his performances, he knows how to lead people in praise and worship with great skill,” he said.
"He is kind, simple-hearted, and brings a unique energy. Working with him will add beautiful colors to this celebration and bring diversity because of our different musical styles.”
Alex Dusabe remains one of Rwanda’s most influential gospel musicians. Over the past 25 years, he has helped pioneer modern worship music in the country, releasing beloved songs such as Umuyoboro, Kuki Turira, Ntumukundire, among many others.
His music is widely known for heartfelt lyrics, profound worship themes, and a steadfast commitment to spreading the message of faith.
During his 25-year musical career, he has four albums under his belt including Mfite Ibyiringiro (2004), Njyana i Golgotha (2012), Bugingo (2017) and Mavuta y'Igiciro (2025).
Some of his iconic songs are Mfite Umukunzi, Umuyoboro, Ibyiringiro, Bugingo, Zaburi 23, Kuki turira and Ninde Wamvuguruza to name just a few.
