If I phrased this one in the religious angle, I would talk of a Christian who backslid but repented of his sins on his death bed. Our pastors tell us that this guy is granted mercy.

In local entertainment similarly, some or our popular artistes were not on the go for the big part of 2009. What makes these guys big time achievers is the way they caught pace towards the end of the year.

Take a look at some of these;
Tom Close was unrivaled when he came around showbiz in 2008.

He however got hard time, settling with magical voices of late comers The Ben and Meddy by mid 2009. We dub him a last minute achiever for returning his fans’ favor in the closing stages of the year.

The Tough Gang is a hip-hop group of five that has proved itself unrivaled for the tart and talent in their songs. The boys however didn’t seem media favorites last year with alleged questionable behavior relating to drugs and abusive language.

But towards the end of the year, they made a surprise comeback that could not be resisted, not even by the radio presenter who had ceased airing their songs.

Abdul Makanyaga may also be dubbed a last minute hero music-wise. We once lost sight of the old timer but he made his comeback in the last quarter year 2009.

He made it to several billboard ads in town and performed at several spots including the East African Party on New Year’s Day.

Rap star Riderman concluded the year 2009; rest assured that he is still the fans’ favorite. The ‘Rutenderi’ star slowed down in 2009 with the introduction of new figures in hip-hop like ‘K8 Kavuo’ and ‘Diplomate’.

But the magic worked again after the release of his latest wonder singles like ‘Umwana Wimihanda’ and ‘Nakoze iki’
Faisal is one guy who broke the ground for Rhythm and Blues in the country.

This sweet voiced singer later withdrew muscle till 2008, from where he attempted a comeback but still in vain. He however made in the end of 2009 with his hot singles like ‘Impeta’ off his pending album.

Lil Ngabo; He is young, he is talented but most interesting is that he is back to the music scene. The 12 year old performer went rare on the dais in 2009 as he no more frequented studio.

We however have seen him use the last stages of the year to make his realistic comeback, releasing more songs and keeping clouds in air at several gigs.

The Family Squad is by design one of our land’s groups of all times owing to the quality of music they deliver. The group however met a hitch in their carrier in around 2008 though they never faded out.

It was good for music lovers getting the four blood brothers back on track recently, with their hot single ‘Uracyari Muto’ their album in stock.

Dr Claude and the Just Family have not let down their fans either. The Dr released his political album ‘Vision 20-20’ which left him loaded and the Just Family came back with their latest single ‘Tubereke’ which has quickly captured fame.
