Gisagara VC close Phase 1 at the top after Kirehe VC win

Gisagara VC ended Phase 1 of the Rwanda Volleyball League at the top of the standings after a dominant 3-0 win over Kirehe VC at Ste Famille Gymnasium on Saturday.

The Southern Province side finished the opening phase with just one loss (APR VC).

Gisagara controlled the match throughout, taking the first set 25-22 and the second 25-19 despite a brief pushback from Kirehe. Yakan Guma’s team sealed the sweep with a commanding 25-10 third set. The defeat left Kirehe VC winless and bottom of the table with zero points.

In other men’s results, EAUR came from a set down to beat RP-Ngoma 3-1, while Police VC comfortably defeated Kigali VC 3-0 to close their phase strongly.

In the women’s league, Kepler WVC crushed RP-Huye in straight sets (25-11, 25-18, 25-21), climbing to third place behind leaders APR WVC and Police WVC.
