NGOMA – The Mayor of Ngoma district Francois Ntiyotwagira has warned local leaders against complacency while handling the construction of classrooms under the new education system.

He made the remarks while addressing a general district meeting, in which stakeholders brain stormed, on their district’s performance in various fields. The meeting was held at the district headquarters.

The Mayor also added that the issue of service delivery should not be taken for granted.

He said that there are a number of set goals, each sector has to achieve in a given period. "We set objectives that included construction of new class rooms to accommodate students in early February,” the Mayor said. "It is surprising to see that some sectors are still lagging behind in this exercise.”

Gerald Muzungu, the Executive Secretary of the district said that the delay was due to lack of capacity by the leaders to mobilize people to works.
