KARONGI – An audit report has implicated the former head teacher of Ecole Technique (ETO Kibuye) in the mismanagement of school funds. Karongi Police are looking further into the matter.

Anthony Ruzindana who is also a former church pastor allegedly failed to account for expenditures amounting to over Rwf400, 000 between 2003 and 2008, a period during which he served as head teacher of the school.

According to the report documents to justify how the money was spent are missing in the audit which was carried out last year.

"The money that is not accounted for is said to have been spent on official school business but there is nothing to justify this,” police said. "We have taken over the investigation as we look for the implicated people.”

Sources say Ruzindana is currently employed as a chaplain in another school in Ruhengeri, Musanze district but efforts to reach him for a comment were futile as his cell phone was switched off by press time.
