Rwanda international Yannick Mukunzi has parted ways with Swedish second tier side Sandviken IF after six years at the club.
The 30-year-old midfielder joined Sandviken in 2019 following a successful spell with Rayon Sports.
"I would like to take this moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone in this club. Since I joined in 2019, you welcomed me, believed in me, and made this journey unforgettable,” he wrote on his Instagram page on Wednesday.
"It is not easy for me to say goodbye because, over the years, Sandviken IF has truly become my family. The memories, the energy, and the connection we built here will always stay close to my heart.”
Mukunzi’s departure follows a difficult season in which injuries kept him sidelined until July.
"As I take the next step in my career, I carry everything I learned and experienced here with me. Next step is loading,” he added.
Mukunzi began his professional journey at APR FC before switching to rivals Rayon Sports in 2016. In his debut season, he helped the Blues clinch the league title and later played a key role in the team that reached the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2017/18 campaign.
