Well done Kicukiro District!

Editor, Reading yesterdays issue of The New Times was especially gratifying. More so when I learnt that Kicukiro District had became the first one to officially launch the Nine-Year Basic Education classrooms; building an eight-classroom block fully furnished in preparation for the beginning of the 2010 academic year. This, only three months after the countrywide campaign to build the classrooms had kicked off. As a resident of this very same district, I feel proud to realise that my local authority had the will and drive to finish this arduous task before any one else in the country.

Pupils in class. Kicukiro District has built new classrooms.

Editor,

Reading yesterdays issue of The New Times was especially gratifying.

I can imagine that it wasn’t easy to build a block of classrooms on schedule. That is why I’d like to congratulate the entire team at Kicukiro District for making this all possible through hard work.

What remains is to make sure that pupils use these facilities to better themselves.

Only through education shall the next generation of leaders emerge; I’m proud that my district has fired the first shot in this war against ignorance.
