The army side started the game strongly and won the first set 25–20 for the lead. Fred Musoni’s Police VC returned in second set looking to even the game while APR VC wanted to extend the lead.

The pair went toe-to-toe as neither side wanted to surrender the set which recorded one of the longest rallies in the league’s recent years.

The contest grew more intense, with APR absorbing mounting pressure that resulted in a yellow card for coach Sammy Mulinge due to repeated protests and uncontrolled technical claims from his bench.

APR ultimately sealed the second set 37–35 in dramatic fashion.
