Choosing the right priority and making good decisions is important this year. Children hope to perform better at school this year.

Betty Mbabazi, a P.5 pupil at Saint Famille Primary School, said that, "I believe when I work harder, I can become first in class and I will be the happiest when the year ends.”

Eleven year-old Passy Bizima, a P.5 pupil at Kigali Harvest Primary School says that learning English both written and spoken is what will make a positive change not only in his studies, but also when it comes to developing his mind.

"I feel small when other children speak English at school yet I cannot. I intend to make friends who speak English so that I can learn faster,” Bizima said.

He encouraged children to focus and deal with situations that affect their good performance at school. He said this will happen when children are disciplined and helpful at home.
