MUSIC LOVERS ARE IN FOR A TREAT as they await big concerts that will be headlined by some of the best musicians on the continent during the festive season.

Event organisers have lined up a number of concerts in the city, some of which will be headlined by famous foreign musicians.

The New Times looks at the top four concerts that people should look out for as the year winds up:

Kigali Fiesta Concert with Nigeria’s Joeboy

Renowned Afrobeats star, Joeboy, is expected in Kigali next week for the highly anticipated Kigali Fiesta Concert slated for December 3, at BK Arena.

The 25-year-old, born Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa, was initially expected to perform at the Kigali Fiesta Live Concert as the main act in July but organisers eventually postponed it to buy more time to organise it.

The 'Alcohol' hit maker will perform alongside Rwandan musicians including Bruce Melodie, Christopher, Bushali, Kenny Sol and Chriss Eazy as well as fast-rising singer Bwiza, the only female featuring the lineup.

Early-bird tickets for the concert are available for bookings via www.ticqet.rw at Rwf5000 for regulars, Rwf15,000 for VIPs and Rwf25,000 for VVIPs.

More tickets will also be up for sale at the gate at Rwf10,000 for regulars, Rwf25,000 for VIPs and Rwf35,000 for VVIPs.

One People Concert with Diamond Platnumz

Tanzanian Superstar Diamond Platnumz is set to return to Rwanda for yet another performance next month. This show will take place on December 23, 2022, and is organised by East Gold Entertainment in collaboration with Skol Rwanda.

East Gold Entertainment is the organizer of the historic concert that The Ben headlined at the BK Arena on August 6, dubbed the 'Rwanda Rebirth Celebration Concert'.

Not much has been announced about the Diamond concert, admission prices or the venue.

Diamond Platnumz last performed in Kigali in 2019, when he participated in the closing of the 'Iwacu na Muzika Festival'.

Ayra Star at BK Arena

Though it is not yet announced, Mavin Records’ star Ayra Star is expected to perform at Rwanda's sports and entertainment hub, Bk Arena, before the year ends.

It is after BK Arena asked music lovers on social media to vote for who they want to see perform in Kigali before the year ends among Victony, Pheelz, Spice Diana and Ayra Star.

77.3 per cent voted Ayra Star and The New Times has learnt that the famous Mavin records member will touch down in Kigali next month for her first performance in Rwanda.

The young female artiste rose to stardom after releasing her debut album ‘19 and Dangerous’ that holds bangers including Bloody Samaritan and Fashion Killer among many others. She’s currently topping charts after releasing her number one hit dubbed Rush and 2 Sugar which appeared on Wizkid’s new album ‘More Love Less Ago’.

Oldies Fest

After a successful debut edition of the Oldies Music Festival in late May, the old school music extravaganza is back and scheduled to take place on December 3, at Canal Olympia, Rebero.

The festival is in its nature an event that brings memories of 80s ,90s and early 2000 (2000-2010) music played around the world. It is clearly a festival for adults.

It will be headlined by a long line-up of DJs including Bisoso alongside the likes of DJ Emery, DJ Khadir, DJ Karim, DJ Mike and DJ RY.
