Singer Bill Ruzima is in Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB)'s custody over drug abuse accusations, specifically the consumption and transportation of cannabis.
Speaking to The New Times, RIB spokesperson Thierry Murangira confirmed the arrest, noting that it took place on November 15 at the KABC building (former KBC) in Kimihurura.

Ruzima, 27, is a Rwandan singer, guitarist, and songwriter known for his Afro-soul style. He launched his solo career in 2019, following his graduation in 2018.
He has showcased his talent on major stages, including the Kigali Jazz Junction, Amani Festival in DR Congo (in 2017 and 2020), Hamwe Festival 2020, and the European Union Peace Concert in 2021.
Some of his notable songs include Zirikana, Imana y’abakundana, Abana bari i Muderi, and Hello Me.
Ruzima is not the first public figure in Rwanda’s creative industry to face arrest related to cannabis use. Other prominent personalities, including Moshions fashion house founder Moses Turahirwa and musicians Ariel Wayz and Babo, among others.
