FA names squad for Ivory Coast friendly

The national football federation, Ferwafa yesterday named the squad that will play Ivory Coast in an international friendly next week in Dar es Salaam. The West African team will be using the match as part of their preparation ahead of the 2010 African Nations Cup in Angola. The Amavubi team is scheduled to leave for Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, play the following day before returning to Kigali on Friday, January 1.

The national football federation, Ferwafa yesterday named the squad that will play Ivory Coast in an international friendly next week in Dar es Salaam.

The West African team will be using the match as part of their preparation ahead of the 2010 African Nations Cup in Angola.

The Amavubi team is scheduled to leave for Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, play the following day before returning to Kigali on Friday, January 1.

Speaking about the match, Amavubi Stars interim coach Eric Nshimiyimana told Times Sport that this was the perfect opportunity for his young squad to test themselves against the very best on the continent.

"The lads are absolutely fired up, because playing against some of Africa’s best players like Didier Drogba, Kolo Toure, Yaya Toure and Emmanuel Eboue is a once in a life time chance for them.

"The team will gain a lot of experience and confidence from this match,” Nshimiyimana said.

APR’s midfield duo of Albert Ngabo and Kalisa Mao will not travel with the squad due to injuries.

Ndayishimiye, D. Kapet, T. Ntamuhanga, E. Serugaba, A. Mwizerwa, E. Mvuyekure, A. Rassou and M.Twite.

According to reports, TFF and the Ivory Coast delegation will meet the costs of Rwanda’s participation in the arrangement. The Ivorians are also set to play two friendly matches against the Taifa Stars.
