FIBA Africa confirmed on Tuesday, November 11, that New Tech Université Club have withdrawn from the 2026 Road to the Basketball Africa League (BAL) West Division Elite 16 tournament which will take place in Praia, Cape Verde.

The Central African Republic champions failed to travel to Praia for a chance to try and qualify for the 2026 Basketball Africa League (BAL).

The club had been drawn in Group B of the qualifying tournament alongside Al Ahly Benghazi (Libya), Moanda BB (Gabon), and Spintex Knights (Ghana).

The remaining three teams will go ahead for the qualifiers which is underway from Tuesday, November 11 Sunday, November 16, at Vava Duarte Gymnasium.
