NURC donates to Nyanza orphans

NYANZA – The newly crowned Miss Rwanda, Grace Bahati and the The Executive Secretary of the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC), Jean Baptiste Habyarimana, on December 27 led a delegation that donated foodstuff worth Rwf 2 million to 39 orphans in Nkinda village under the Barakabaho Association of Nyanza district.

NYANZA – The newly crowned Miss Rwanda, Grace Bahati and the The Executive Secretary of the National Unity and Reconciliation Commission (NURC), Jean Baptiste Habyarimana, on December 27 led a delegation that donated foodstuff worth Rwf 2 million to 39 orphans in Nkinda village under the Barakabaho Association of Nyanza district.

The delegation also shared lunch and happy moments through cultural dances by Dukundane family- a visiting Kigali-based orphan’s association.

Habyarimana thanked the organizers and requested for similar initiatives country wide.

"Youth associations have played a big role in contributing to efforts of creating unity and reconciliation,”

Habyarimana said. "Unity is still a responsibility of all Rwandan youths regardless of their background.”

Organizers of the event said that the idea was to give hope to orphans during the festive season.

Miss Rwanda, Grace Bahati, also encouraged the orphans to have hope for a brighter future and work hard to attain their goals in life.
