Rwanda will participate at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup due in Antananarivo, Madagascar, from December 5-7.

The Rwanda basketball Federation (FERWABA) has confirmed Rwanda’s participation at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup due in Antananarivo, Madagascar, from December 5-7.

The development was confirmed to Times Sportby federation officials on November 11.

According to the Federation, Rwanda will be represented in both men and women categories.

National team coach Moise Mutokambali will, in the next few days, announce an eight-player provisional squad for each category (men and women) to start training ahead of the showpiece.

In 2024, Rwanda men’s team won a silver medal at the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2024 in Antananarivo, Madagascar after a 3-22 final loss at the hands of the hosts.

Rwanda also claimed the first ever medal at the 2022 edition of the competition held in Cairo, Egypt, after beating Tunisia 21-17 in the third-place game to win bronze.

"3x3 basketball” is a variation of basketball played on a "three-aside” basis, with one backboard and a half-court setup.

The event will feature 14 countries in the men’s category while the women's competition will attract 10 countries.
