Dressing for a wedding

The wedding season is here with us again! Many weddings are now taking place and people, especially women are busy looking for what to dress for different weddings, especially in a month like this where there is a wedding every other weekend, and we are forced to buy an outfit for every wedding just so that we look the part.

The wedding season is here with us again! Many weddings are now taking place and people, especially women are busy looking for what to dress for different weddings, especially in a month like this where there is a wedding every other weekend, and we are forced to buy an outfit for every wedding just so that we look the part.

Deciding what to wear to a wedding is very difficult at times. The first stage is to find out more information about the wedding for you to decide whether to dress up formal or just put on something casual. Keep in mind that whatever you decide to wear put on something you are comfortable with.

Another factor to put on mind is the season in which the wedding is to be held, each season has an appropriate dress for it.

For example it can be very embarrassing to put on a sleeveless and backless dress in winter. Because one thing for sure you will forget what took you to that wedding in the first place as people will be staring at you as you shiver with cold.

A lady can have difficulty in choosing the color of the dress she wants to wear in a certain wedding, unlike men who are so famous with their black, grey and blue suits.

Many a times I have been asked if it is appropriate to wear black in a wedding, and I reply –why not?

Black cocktail dress that hits close to the knee - is a great choice for all but the most formal of occasions.

Some people say "black is not okay! it’s so depressing!” These people have definitely not been to a wedding in the last quarter-century.

Look around at any wedding you go to - probably half of the female guests will be wearing a black dress of some kind.

Any other colour for a dress when you are invited for a wedding is ok, except a white dress which is a no-no for an invited guest, because you will be seen as if you are there to compete with the lady of the day- who happens to be the bride.

Accessorizing your dress is very important

Carrying a clutch bag to a wedding is divine. For example if you are putting on a multicoloured dress a mixture of lilac, red, baby pink and black- then you can accessorize with different colours for as long as you don’t go out of the theme.

Clutch bags are very ideal for an evening out or for a wedding; they give a lady a royal look!

Shoes which are designed for evening or for weddings are usually very delicately designed, unlike the closed office wear shoe.

The not so high heeled pep toe shoes are now back in the market, and have seen almost all ladies have a pair or two, these come in handy especially when you are in a cocktail party or wedding which require a lot of standing, these therefore give a breather to the toes which most of the time are the ones in discomfort.

Therefore always choose your shoes wisely. A man is always judged by the shoes they wear!

Make up, perfumes, deodorant and hairstyle

For make up less is good. A lady needs to apply the face foundation according to their skin colour, then apply mascara of desirable tone, followed by an eye liner, then finally a lip gloss or lipstick is applied.

Make – up is best applied in small portions especially during the summer time, because of too much heat it wears off with the sweat which can make a ladies face look like a horror movie.

Most often than not, perfumes describe a person. If one likes very strong perfumes- they are said to be loud and flamboyant, while the ones who choose mild perfumes are said to be like royals- speaking in low tones but the their presence is felt.

It is therefore always advised to pick a not so much strong perfume. To people who sweat under the arm pits need to use deodorant often so as to always have the fresh smell.

It can be very nauseating to talk or sit with someone who has a repulsive odour coming out of his armpits. Therefore ladies and gentlemen out there-   get yourselves very good skin care Oriflame products to help you groom yourself , which I use and also a member-and cannot complain with results that they give me.

Hair has never been much of a problem to most people men or women. Whichever way you want to wear it for as long as it looks neat, then it’s okay.

Whether worn in braids, short crop, clean head, permed hair or even dread locked- just make sure you look presentable before you leave that door, a bad hair day is always un- called for.

Jewellery to finish off the look

Too much jewellery scares people and makes one look horrendous! One needs to be very careful when choosing jewellery to pair up with an outfit.

For example a black dress will go very well with black peep toe sandals, with a matching black clutch bag and then accessorize with an all turquoise jewellery set.

This will give a lady a very unique feel and look, without looking as if she has over accessorised.
